Cvent Selects the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center as a Top Holiday Party Venue in San Diego
List Features Local Venues Most Viewed By Meeting Planners in Cvent’s Supplier Network
November 08, 2012
San Diego CA–November 8, 2012 —Cvent recently announced that the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center has been named one of the top places to host a holiday party in San Diego this year. As the holiday party season approaches, Cvent, which operates the number one marketplace for group meetings business in the world, developed this list to help those who plan these parties identify the top venues in their local area.
“We are honored to be selected among the top special event venues in San Diego by Cvent,” said Debbie Lowery-Cunning, Events & Group Sales Senior Manager at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. “This honor validates the significant effort we put into making sure our facility, offerings and service are top notch for our clients during the holiday season, as well as year round.”
The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (the Fleet) has been hosting special events since its opening in 1973. The Fleet offers an ideal atmosphere for your next meeting or special event. Featuring eight unique hands-on galleries, the Fleet has more than 100 science exhibits and four spacious meeting rooms (for lectures, board meetings, presentations or luncheons) as well as the 314-seat Eugene Heikoff and Marilyn Jacobs Heikoff IMAX® Dome Theater. The theater is the world’s first IMAX Dome theater, and it offers a dramatic venue for everything from presentations to planetarium shows to private film screenings.
Our galleries provide the perfect ambiance for an elaborate sit-down dinner, cocktail reception, corporate event, wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, awards gala, birthday celebration, prom, or school function. Located in San Diego’s historic Balboa Park (close to downtown and the San Diego Convention Center), the Fleet has a spectacular view of the park’s iconic Bea Evenson Fountain, which serves as the perfect backdrop for your special event. The space is ready to celebrate!
During special events, guests get complete access to the science center. This isn’t a typical “look but don’t touch” site; the Fleet is a hands-on museum. Guests are invited to investigate all of our interactive exhibits, and there’s no restriction on dining and imbibing.
The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is both a non-profit organization and a local attraction in San Diego. Our primary mission is “to promote lifelong learning and enjoyment of science and technology,”
so our special events help support our educational focus. When you choose to host your event with us, you directly benefit the education of children.
If you’re environmentally conscious, you will be happy to know that the Fleet has LEED Silver Certification, and we’re very proud of that!
Finally, we offer guests choices. When a guest chooses us as their venue, they’re not locked in to one event planner or one caterer. We offer options. We have extensive exclusive caterer and preferred vendor lists, so you can make a choice that meets your needs and your budget.
Cvent evaluated more than 5,000 special event venues within the Cvent Supplier Network to create the list. The top ten venues in each market were determined by the number of times the venue was viewed, as well as the venue’s group lead market share within the Cvent Supplier Network.
The Cvent Supplier Network creates value for planners and suppliers. It includes more than 200,000 hotels and special event venues worldwide, providing one-stop shopping for meetings buyers. Additionally, Cvent extends suppliers’ reach to new customers through the Cvent Supplier Network’s more than 160,000 planners, helping venues maximize their existing sales and marketing resources.
