Junior Science Club


Join us on the third Saturday of each month to investigate exciting science topics. Sessions are filled with new challenges, hands-on activities and interaction with local scientists. Throughout the year, kids will explore an array of fields including biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, physics, robotics and much more!

Junior Science Club is held the third Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for students in grades 1 to 4.

For younger children, we offer Young Scientists workshops for you and your little scientist.

For older kids, Weekend Science Clubs inspire budding innovators.

December 2019: Gingerbread Structures

Build a gingerbread inspired structure that can hold up weight, withstand moving earth and weather the elements. Examine the forces at work to make these structures strong.

January 2020: Plants to Plastic

Explore polymers and chemically engineer a bouncy ball. Also, create a plant-based plastic, called bioplastic. 

February 2020: Robotics and Coding

February 15, 2020
11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
 
Combine science, art and technology to explore how a circuit works and how it can power a robot capable of creating art.
